PaxGenBio establishes a base for expansion to the European market through “MEDICA 2022” 

The Molecular Diagnostics Company PaxGenBio announced on November 17th that it has taken a step towards the European market by attending the world’s largest exhibition for medical devices, ‘MEDICA 2022’ that takes place in Düsseldorf, Germany, until November 17th. 

At this exhibition, PaxGenBio focused on introducing “PaxView® STI 12 MPCR-ULFA Kit” and the instrument “PaxView® ULFA Reader”. The kit simultaneously detects 12 different types of sexually transmitted infectious diseases through one single test thanks to the company’s core technology MPCR-ULFA (Multiplex PCR-Universal Lateral Flow Assay). “PaxView® HPV20 Genotyping MPCR-ULFA Kit”, which allows detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) infections that cause cervical cancer, was also shown during this exhibition. It is a kit that detects 20 different types of HPV including HPV high-risk types. The company also has “PaxView® TB/NTM MPCR-ULFA Kit”, which detects and differentiate mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) and non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). 

“Multiplex and Rapid molecular diagnostics technology platform MPCR-ULFA has attracted a lot of attention” PaxGenBio officials said and declared: “This exhibition will widen our opportunities to expand our sales further on the overseas market”. “Around 120 companies from 25 different countries such as Germany, Greece, Spain, Turkey, visited our booth and have shown great interest” they added. 

PaxGenBio concluded that attending this exhibition had benefits such as finding global buyers and increasing market awareness. The company also actively discussed customized sales strategies that could fit the market situation with European business partners such as Italy, Poland, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic for further expansion on the European market. 

By combining Multiplex PCR and Lateral Flow Assay benefits, PaxGenBio has developed a new concept of molecular diagnosis technology. Multiple detection of infectious diseases and genotyping are possible. It becomes an even more convenient and rapid diagnostic technology with the possibility for automated analysis thanks to “PaxView® ULFA Reader”, explained the company.

팍스젠바이오, '메디카 2022'로 유럽 시장 확대 기반 마련

분자진단 전문기업 팍스젠바이오가 17일까지 독일 뒤셀도르프에서 열리는 세계 최대 규모 의료기기 전시회 'MEDICA(메디카) 2022'를 통해 유럽 시장 확대에 나선다고 17일 밝혔다.

팍스젠바이오는 이번 전시회에서 'PaxView® STI 12 MPCR-ULFA 키트'와 리더기(PaxView® ULFA Reader)를 중점적으로 알렸다. 해당 제품은 회사 핵심 기술인 MPCR-ULFA(Multiplex PCR-Universal Lateral Flow Assay) 기술을 기반으로 성 매개 감염성 질환 12종을 한 번의 검사를 통해 동시에 진단할 수 있는 제품이다. 자궁경부암의 원인이 되는 인유두종 바이러스(HPV)의 감염 여부와 함께 고위험군 HPV 유전자형을 포함, 20여 종의 감염 여부를 진단하는 'PaxView® HPV20 Genotyping MPCR-ULFA 키트'도 선보였다. 결핵균과 비결핵항산균을 구분해 진단하는'PaxView® TB/NTM MPCR-ULFA 키트' 등도 내놨다.

팍스젠바이오 관계자는 "다중신속 분자진단을 하는 MPCR-ULFA 플랫폼 기술에 대한 관심이 높았다"며 "이번 전시회는 해외 시장의 판로를 더욱 넓힐 수 있는 기회가 될 것"이라고 말했다. 이어 독일, 이탈리아, 그리스, 스페인, 튀르키예 등 25개국 120여 개 업체가 부스를 방문해 많은 관심을 나타냈다"고 덧붙였다.

팍스젠바이오 측은 이번 전시회를 통해 시장 인지도 상승 및 글로벌 바이어 발굴 등의 효과를 얻었다고 평가했다. 또 유럽 시장 본격 진출을 위해 이탈리아, 폴란드, 우크라이나, 체코 등 유럽 판매 파트너들과 시장 상황에 맞는 맞춤형 판매 전략 등을 적극 협의한 것으로 알려졌다.

한편 팍스젠바이오의 MPCR-ULFA 기술은 다중중합효소반응(Multiplex PCR) 기술과 면역크로마토크래피(Lateral Flow Assay) 기술의 장점을 융합해 개발한 신개념 분자진단 기술이다. 감염성 질환의 다중진단과 유전자형 진단이 가능하다. PaxView® ULFA 리더기를 통해 자동 분석이 가능하다는 점 등 신속하고 편리한 분자진단 기술이라는 게 업체 측 설명이다.
