PaxGenBio prepares an opportunity to enter the Middle East market through Iranian partner 

The Molecular Diagnostics Company PaxGenBio announced on the 11th that its Iranian partner company FAMTA, recently introduced its molecular diagnostic kits for infectious diseases based on MPCR-ULFA at the 24th International Congress of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine held in Teheran, Iran. 

According to the company, FAMTA introduced “MPCR-ULFA (Multiplex PCR-Universal Lateral Flow Assay) Platform Technology” at this congress, which is PaxGenBio’s core technology for multiple and rapid molecular diagnostics. 

The company explained that it was focused on introducing ‘PaxView® STI12 MPCR-ULFA kit’ that is capable of detecting and identifying 12 different types of sexually transmitted infectious diseases in one test, ‘PaxView® HPV 20 Genotyping MPCR-ULFA kit’ that allows to detect and genotype 20 HPV types including high-risk HPV types, and ‘PaxView® TB/NTM MPCR-ULFA Kit’ that detects and differentiates mycobacterium tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacteria, all that thanks to MPCR-ULFA technology. 

“During this congress, 800 diagnostic laboratory professionals from Iran, Iraq, Syria, and other countries from the Middle East area visited FAMTA’s booth” said PaxGenBio’s official before adding: “Through continuous cooperation with overseas partners and by actively promoting molecular diagnostics products with competitive technology, we will gradually expand our opportunities to enter this overseas market area”.

팍스젠바이오, 이란 파트너사 통해 중동 시장 진출 교두보 확보 

분자진단 전문기업 팍스젠바이오는 이란 파트너사 'FAMTA'가 최근 이란 테헤란에서 개최된 '국제 병리학 및 진단검사의학 학회'(24th International Congress of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine)에서 MPCR-ULFA 기반의 감염성 질환 분자진단 제품을 선보였다고 11일 밝혔다.

업체에 따르면 FAMTA는 이번 학회에서 팍스젠바이오의 핵심 기술인 다중 신속 분자진단을 위한 'MPCR-ULFA(Multiplex PCR-Universal Lateral Flow Assay) 플랫폼 기술'을 소개했다.

MPCR-ULFA 기술을 기반으로 성 매개 감염성 질환 12종을 한 번의 검사로 동시 진단할 수 있는 'PaxView® STI 12 MPCR-ULFA 키트' 및 고위험군 HPV(인유두종 바이러스) 유전자형을 포함해 20여 종의 HPV 감염 여부를 진단하는 'PaxView® HPV20 Genotyping MPCR-ULFA 키트', 결핵균과 비결핵항산균을 구분해 진단하는 'PaxView® TB/NTM MPCR-ULFA 키트' 등을 중점적으로 소개했다는 게 업체 측 설명이다.

팍스젠바이오 관계자는 "학회 기간 이란, 이라크, 시리아 등 중동 지역에서 온 80여 명의 진단검사의학 전문가가 FAMTA의 부스를 방문했다"며 "해외 파트너사와의 지속적인 협력으로 기술 경쟁력을 갖춘 분자진단 제품을 현지에 적극 홍보하는 등 해외 진출 기회를 점차 확장해 나갈 것"이라고 말했다.
